Hi, I am Tara Wilson.
I am a graphic designer, a small business owner, and a mother to two teenage sons. The sunny Southern California desert is where I grew up and currently live. In complete contrast, I spend my vacation time exploring and soaking up the beauty of Montana's mountains, streams, and wildlife.
My introduction to graphic design came in 1996 when a coworker taught me the fundamental program features of Pagemaker (now InDesign) to assist during crunch time. Quickly fascinated, I yearned to learn more. Something inside me came alive, and I knew this would be my career! I became a sponge and taught myself all I could.
In 1998 I left my unfulfilling office management job, set up a fully equipped home office, and started my freelance graphic design business, Creative Grafix. I acquired design work for seven Money Mailer (direct mail advertising) franchises with monthly print deadlines that spanned over 10-years. Many Money Mailer clients requested to work directly with me for their own company's design needs and remain with me today. In 2011 I began a 9-year work relationship with Mailshark (direct mail advertising) with weekly deadlines. Throughout the years' I have also had contracted work with small business owners.
My 20 years of experience includes using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, stock photo websites, and print wholesalers with an emphasis on designing direct mail marketing advertisements, logos, business cards, restaurant menus, signage, email marketing, and social media ads. I continue to further my design knowledge through online courses.
Whether a one-time design or long-term campaign, I pride myself in providing a warm and professional attitude, dependability, and attention to detail. I strive to build meaningful, lasting relationships with my clients.
